Dismissal

All students who walk or are picked up will be escorted by their teachers outside to their designated dismissal areas.

All students who take bus transportation at home will be escorted by Webster staff directly to the gym. Students must be seated in their assigned bus area and abide by school expectations. Each student will be called to line-up when their bus number is called.

All students waiting should be picked up by 3:25 p.m. If an emergency occurs, please notify the office before 2:00 p.m. They will be signed out in the Dismissal Log. To ensure the safety of Webster students, repeated late pick-ups may result in the school contacting the appropriate authorities.

Students are not allowed to pass through the building. All siblings in grades 1-8 must be picked up outside in the playground area. Students are not allowed to re-enter the school building unless they are picking up a PK or K sibling from a classroom. See page 32 of this handbook regarding State of CT and HPS Dismissal policy.

Early Pick-Up

We believe students belong in school for the entire school day. We ask that all appointments be scheduled outside of the school day. If your child must leave early from school, we ask that you do the following:

  1. The Main Office must receive written parental/guardian notification with the date and time of the appointment the morning of the dismissal.
  2. The parent/guardian must sign the student out in the Family Support Provider's Office.
  3. Students can not be picked up after 2:30 p.m. This is an important transition period and students are receiving homework instructions and performing the end of day routines.
