Principal Jay Mihalko has been the proud leader of Noah Webster MicroSociety Magnet School since 2012. Prior to being principal, Mr. Mihalko served as Assistant Principal at Noah Webster MicroSociety School. Before that he was Founding Dean of Students at Achievement First Hartford Elementary. He taught as a special education, first grade, and second grade teacher in Newtown, CT before returning to Hartford, CT where he had worked with the CTReads Literacy team at Maria Sanchez School. Mr. Mihalko earned a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Connecticut and his 6th Year in Educational Administration and Supervision from The University of Bridgeport. During his tenure, Noah Webster MicroSociety Magnet School has received the ConnCAN Success Story School Award, Magnet Schools of America School of Excellence Award, and the Three Star MicroSociety School Award. Mr. Mihalko has also co-presented for the Connecticut Association of Schools on Failing to Succeed: Student Leaders Applying Improvement Science and Implementing Common Core State Standards with Fidelity. Outside of school time Mr. Mihalko enjoys coaching soccer and basketball, being a Cub Scout Den Leader, and spending time with his incredible wife and three amazing children visiting children’s museums or going on hikes.
